New Delhi, Dec 17: Renault Nissan Technology and Business Centre India Private Limited (RNTBCI) has launched a scholarship programme to help 100 learners who are from economically disadvantaged backgrounds, to pursue a BSc in Programming and Data Science from the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT)-Madras.
The degree course was introduced in 2020 as the first-ever online degree by an IIT, as part of an exercise to democratise high-quality education in India. The programme is designed to cater to candidates from all educational backgrounds. It is offered three times a year and attracts learners from around the world. For admissions to the January 2022 term, the applications portal is open until 21st December 2021. It has multiple entry and exit options to help the students to pursue their studies without any difficulty. Appreciating the idea behind this scholarship programme, Prof. Andrew Thangaraj, Coordinator, IIT Madras BSc Program, said, “We have students from various backgrounds who are in need of financial assistance. The scholarships from RNTBCI will help them to achieve their goals, which would have been impossible otherwise.”
